Desværre bliver der slet ingen fest, og nogle af pengene til fødselsdagsgaven er væk. Har Jakob stjålet dem? Esther Skriver er født i 1926 i Ebeltoft. Hun er uddannet lærer fra Århus Seminarium i 1948, og begyndte i 1968 at skrive letlæsningsbøger for børn. I 1995 lagde hun navn til - og modtog som den første - Skriverprisen, der hvert år tildeles en skøn- eller faglitterær forfatter, der skriver læservenligt.
