both narrator's performance was excellent, both doing various acents and changing pitch in their voices for the different characters. it shows the resilience of those who keep fighting for a better life for themselves and others. the story is one of heartbreak, angst, insta love, well paced spice and family bonds. its filled with the unfortunate abuse/trauma so many children and women face, however the story tackles it with care and doesn't go into indeath detail but you may want to check before reading if you find this sort of thing too upsetting to listen to. I highly recommend this book.

These narrators did a cracking job bringing such emotive material to life.👏
I really loved Shelby and her resilience. Her maternal instincts were perfection!🥰 The found family she'd created for Lucca and herself were exactly who she needed. She was just missing the love of a good, loyal, and protective man.
I mostly liked Anthony. I wasn't a fan of the orders being barked at her, though. She may have liked it, but it made me uncomfortable knowing her past.🤷🏻♀️ I did love how utterly committed to her and Lucca he was.
I felt like this book was a bit over saturated with spicey scenes. It felt unnecessary to me, sadly. I thought parts were perfection, and others missed their mark.
I'm listening to book 3 next.🙏🏼✨️
