About this listen

When a plane crashes high in the mountains of North Carolina, forensic anthropologist Tempe Brennan is called in to identify the victims. A chance discovery concerns her: a severed foot, well away from the main crash site. A deserted house close by is buried so deep in the woods that locals claim to know nothing of its existence. And her examination of the foot throws up more questions than answers. Before she can make any progress Tempe's professional standing is threatened. But she fears that, air tragedy aside, another corpse lies somewhere in the woods. Pitting herself against a conspiracy of silence, Tempe vows to bring justice for her mystery victim.

An excellent story well performed

An excellent fourth book in the Temperance Brennan series, well performed. Full of drama, suspense, twists and turns it’s a great listen that I’d highly recommend to all mystery lovers

Love the story

I have read the Reichs books for years and loved them and since I now love audiobooks, I thought I’d give them a go. I enjoyed the audiobook and the performance but perhaps a male actor was needed for male characters, I’m not sure the lady fully achieved Ryan’s voice in particular.

Well written but not favourite.

Kathy Reichs is a huge talent whose writing I have always enjoyed enormously. Fatal Voyage is not an exception but it's not my favourite.
The narration was not my favourite and I did not feel she was a good match for Brennan. Despite this the voice acting was strong with good characterisation.

Involving, interesting and enjoyable!

What more could you ask! Possibly not for the uber squeamish! Well written and very well read - an enjoyable way to spend a few hours.
