About this listen

Reaching civilization was not all that Graeme imagined it would be.

It was worse.

With his tribe freshly formed, and freshly Fateless, all he wants to do is prepare, research, and have a quiet drink or three before saving Angus, and in doing so, the world.

Ironically, Fate has other plans....

Ensnared by a corrupt magistrate and forced to fight for the entertainment of those who view themselves as civilized, the White Roses will have to either survive or succumb to the bloody gauntlet of the famous Frosthome Arena.

However, Graeme’s Awakening to Dreamer and his newfound mastery of Slumber may be just the key they need to triumph over the trials thrust upon them. Fortunately, such violence breeds opportunity. Allies, knowledge, magical items, and the promise of a cold pint can all be found here, should the tribe succeed.

Yet beyond this, shadows stir. A growing, necrotic sea that threatens to engulf the tribe and put an end to their plans almost as soon as they have formed. Whether they know it or not.

The 2nd in the series so far shows how far our Roses have went, and of course just how much further to go. Great news as this different take on the usual reincarnation to a LitRPG world has some great pace and likeable characters outside the main two. Narration by talented Hellegers who I have followed for many years just helps this along nicely as is on my must have series list.

This was a great continuation of both the series with a good pace and plot and continued with the world building and progression kept me wanting to know what would be next!

Good follow up in the series

A very strong sequel to the first book, keeping up the author's unique and engaging style.

Plenty of progression for those who love a level up, with struggle enough that the characters earn them.
Really enjoy the world building in this entry, you get the impression of wider, far off lands, rife with adventure and adversity for the white roses to contend with.
Graeme and co. really have their work cut out for them, and I for one can't wait to see them get down to business

Neil Hellegers does a phenomenal job bringing the folks of Morrethos to life, eccentricities and all

Here's hoping the release of book three is as quick as Graeme's wit (maybe a little faster)

A fantastic followup

This book starts during the aftermath of book 1 and steams ahead with plenty of character building between the tribe and world building. The “system” is explained more as the MC makes his way through the world.

A mixture of epic battles, witty back-and-forths, and unique powers led me to really enjoy book 2. I really enjoy the tribe aspect of the book as it keeps the MC in check and also keeps the listening fresh as some litrpgs get a little monotonous with time… but not this one!

I’m really looking forward to book 3 now as well!
