Shame about the commentary

Fantastic show and works great on audio which some people feel doesn’t work as well TV. I had the shows on vinyl and always loved them and with Manuel helping out with scenes that need a little audio help, it sets up each episode well.
My only gripe is the commentary at the beginning of each episode, first time round it’s okay but repeat listens makes the whole thing a little tiresome especially as it can be almost 5 minutes each episode. I just wish this could be turned off.

Other than that it’s the actually episodes are great and well worth the purchase.

Hilarious

Listening to this brought back so many memories. As I listened I could see the actors in my mind from watching the tv series. Great to relive on audio.

Simply the best British comedy ever!

The audio maybe not be as good as the real TV show, but still captures the essence of the British humour that is the characteristic of this unique British comedy that is founded on word-play and their ability to laughing at themselves. We all have met characters like that in the Uk in real life and therefore can relate our personal experiences with the shows! Simply timeless humour!

It kinda works and kinda doesn't

it's audio directly taken from the TV show with additional narration to paint the picture.

What's not to love!

This is brilliant. The little 'asides' by the narrator are just enough to fill in the gaps and give a little cohesion but I can see it all in my mind's eye anyway. I'm not even bothering with watching it on the screen anymore. This is enough!

Your mileage may vary but I enjoyed it

This is the audio from the TV series, a lot of which is quite visual comedy. This version is strategically narrated by Manuel to help with visual elements and some scene changes. I thought that worked rather well. Each episode is introduced with some comments from John Cleese about how the show was written.

As a package, then, it's reasonably well put together and worth considering if you're a fan of the show.

Still just as funny

These have aged really well and this audio only series is just as funny. John Cleese gives a short background to each episode. I enjoyed it all very much.
