Partnering with the tech-priest Rho-1 Lux of the Collegiate Extremis, Noctis is drawn into a murky world of tech-heresy, illegal servitors and exploitation that could end his career or his life.

Intriguing and engaging
As an old fan of the 40k universe I absolutely loved this novel. Flesh and steel fleshes out the day to day lives of the average imperial citizens and helps build a view of the class hierarchy and minutiae of non combatants lives, duties and struggles of the poor downtrodden souls of the emperor’s citizens. Written well and having many twists to the tale certainly leaves you hungry for more whilst it’s not such a cliffhanger ending there’s plenty to make a sequel or hopefully sequel’s
Kudos to the voice talent very well read and just the right amount of emotional emphasis where needed.
Listen to this novel if you enjoy crime series and sci-fi I highly recommend 10/10

Good story and performance
very well read with each character being clear and distinguishable. Story ties everything up nicely though does leave with something to bait a sequel. Hope the continue the characters story.

Pretty good detective story
As a detective novel it's reasonably standard fare however it is enhanced by being placed in Warhammer 40k and moves along with twists and turns at a good pace. Well performed by the narrator.

The Servitor Manufactory
The voice acting, particularly on the sections from Rho-1 Lux's memcore, is very well done, with subtle details that I enjoyed

A window into a life an imperial citizen
if your a fan of war hammer it's a great read, it is also a good entry book into the warhammer universe. definitely recommend it to a friend

Solid w40k drama
Exploring the w40k universe from the perspectives far removed from the battlefield is something that I find far more enjoyable than endless back and forth war stories.
This is a very solid if not quite spectacular start to what could be a great series. It could uncharitably be described as Sam Spade with augs laced with an undercurrent of class commentary, but it's actually something greater than the sum of its parts.

Gritty crime
I really enjoyed this departure from the usual 40K novel of endless war between superhuman soldiers. This novel gives you a decent cyberpunk crime story wrapped in 40K settings. I’m looking forward to the sequel.

Excellent story of a human view of warhammer
I really enjoyed the story. It is as well crafted as any crime thriller in the cinema.
Weirdly the second POV voice actor is not credited at all, she did an amazing job as the mechanicus minded Lux. Really should add her name to the credits.
