Summary
'Cussler is hard to beat' Daily Mail
The fourteenth incredible Dirk Pitt classic from multi-million-copy king of the adventure novel, Clive Cussler.
Tracking a notorious Chinese smuggler's activities leads Dirk Pitt from Washington State to Louisiana, where his quarry is constructing a huge shipping port in the middle of nowhere. Why has he chosen this unlikely location?
The trail then leads to the race to find the site of the mysterious sinking of the ship that Chiang Kai-shek filled with treasure when he fled China in 1949, including the legendary boxes containing the bones of Peking Man that had vanished at the beginning of World War I. As Pitt prepares for a final showdown, he is faced with the most formidable foe he has ever encountered...

Gripping thriller
Loved the story line and the characters. Scott Brick brings it to life with his narration of them. Brilliant.

easy listening
good story and performance although rather predictable plot, that's all I wanted to say but it insists on 7 more words.

Another great Dirk Pitt novel
Ok… the story is a bit groan out load at times and the cheesy sexism is hilarious in parts (it’s definitely of it’s time) but I genuinely love the escapism of the original Dirk and Geordino novels, written by Clive Cussler alone. The stories are great and there’s nothing better than a bit of old fashioned macho adventure stories to get you through the day. Totally recommend it, definitely worth a credit…. Great value for money 🥰👍😎

Dirk Pitt and Al - What a Combination
Once again a great yarn with lots of adventure, excitement, history, classic cars and some sentimental moments. I recommend this book to anyone who loves adventure.

Awesome.
I've received read many Clive Cussler Dirk Pitt novels in the past I, Flood Tide needed to be added to the list. Scott brick has the ability to narrate a novel and it's like going to the films absolutely awesome. as always Clive Cussler is on form as many people say of his earlier works. I however enjoy all of it. I highly recommend this book as an exciting adventure story and the audible as a very necessary companion to swap and change amongst read/listen.

Dragged out story line.
Story is good although dragged out in places.
Especially the efforts to stop the ship. One carefully placed air to ship missile would have would have stopped it.
