About this listen
What if everything forbidden to me—freedom, love, pleasure—could be mine? Would I be brave enough to take it?
Five years ago, Josie Porter's life was about to begin: she was going to escape her abusive family, move in with her best friend, and start college. Now, scarred from years of government torture in the Designation Academy, her dreams are long gone. Her only goal now is to survive.
With the Designation Government out to pair every omega with often brutal alpha packs, Josie has to turn to black-market suppressants to disguise her biology. When the supply runs out, Josie can no longer run from her designation.
Cam, Ben, and Theo Ashwood had given up on their dream to find an omega, refusing to participate in the government's oppressive policies. But when the underground anti-government Alliance asks them to help an omega in need, they can't say no. They never expected to meet her—their fated mate.
Suddenly surrounded by alphas desperate to tend to her every need, Josie finds herself feeling things she only dreamed of as a child—love, trust… hope.
But even the protection of her fiercely loyal pack can't stand against those determined to tear them apart.
Forbidden: Part One is a first-person, multiple POV, why-choose omegaverse romance with a curvy FMC and her cinnamon roll alphas. Featuring high-spice MFMM scenes and a suspenseful plot, this book ends on a cliffhanger that is resolved in Forbidden: Part Two.

Really enjoyed this
Really enjoyed this story, fantastic narration, well held together. A bit eye roll in places but I smiled a lot and actually laughed out loud at some points. It’s quite political. Going to buy the second book right now! Thank you

It’s okay
Okay, so I like the book and I don’t. I think it has a lot of potential, I think the performance of both narrators are great. And I like the overall bar of the story, plot and where this could go. But I’ve got to say, the constant crying, whining and insecurities from the FMC are kinda grating after a while. Il all here for character development and I understand the power of trauma. But damn, it all just gets a little tedious and repetitive after a while, I was really hoping for Josie to really come into her own, and everytime it felt like she had an opportunity too, she just fell back into the woe is me, crying constantly and complaining about being overweight and how her alphas couldn’t possibly pick her. I mean, I really felt for them because they have done nothing throughout the entire first book but be so kind to her and sprinkle her in love, gifts and compliments, and yet she still complains and doesn’t believe it. I dunno. I hate leaving book series unfinished, so I may likely still get the second one, but I’ve got to say, if things don’t change in book 2 I will be so disappointed. Because I don’t hate the book, but the insecurities need to end already and they all just band together and become a power house pack!

First Omegaverse......
I found this book after speaking with the author of His Tesoro (you HAVE to read it), and she said she wrote omegaverse under another pen name. I had been feeling a little burn out lately with the morally grey, and im waiting on some releases, so perfect time to try something new.
We follow Josie an Omega who does not meet the normal standard for what society feels an omega should.....skinny, obedient, and there to be at the alphas beck and call (a little handmades tale). The government is corrupt, woman have no rights and Josie suffers serious abuse. When she has to join a pack she has help from the Alliance (an anti-govenment group) and is placed with a pack of three alphas. They are three incredible men, all about communication, helping her heal, showing her acceptance and love. You could not find three less toxic men and it was beyond refreshing.
This book deals with some heavy topics but it also has a lot of laugh out loud moments (the driving scene, brilliant 🤣) and cozy vibes. Much of the book is following the four of them in their day to day lives, growing together, healing and learning how to be in a relationship/pack. It's also got some very well done spice, its a good intro to why choose.
This is a duology with the relationships at the forefront and some of the Alliance storyline in the background. This book ends on a cliffhanger and it seems like book two will be going much deeper into the Alliance storyline.
This was my first omegaverse, basically think shifters that don't shift with a few differences in the pack makeup (although the genre is not all like that from what I've seen, can be aliens etc) and I've heard most are why choose. I love this authors writing and will read more of her blacklist, but not sure omegaverse is for me in general. This was great for my mood though, I really needed some non toxic men and a healthy relationship! Right book right time!

A great Omegaverse series
This was a reread was me. I feel like this story is even more relevant in today’s climate.
Thoroughly enjoyed this Omegaverse story.
We love a man whose obsessed with his girl , and whats better than that?
Three Alphas obsessed with their poor little traumatized curvy omega.
As this is book 1 in a series in end of a cliffhanger

Great narration
This dystopia omegaverse is very dark. This poor omega has been to hell and back, so please check the trigger warnings because there are plenty of horrendous situations this poor woman goes through.
Her alphas aren't the bad ones here (even if some of them are aholes).
The government lies the population and have what sums up as concentration camps for omegas. The story is heavy, but there is some spice in it too, plus a little of what is very similar to current political situations around the world.

One of my favourite books and my first audiobook
This duology has been one of my fav 2023 reads and will always have a special place in my heart. I can relate to Josie in some ways and this makes her character all the more real for me. I love that she is plus sized and although she has a bad relationship with her body it improves over the books.
Theo, Cam and Ben are such sweethearts and cover so many personalities. Josie is strong mentally and fights everyday to live her life as best she can.
It was my first audiobook and the audio made the book more real for me. I laughed harder, felt more sympathy and engaged with the story. It took a while to adjust to hearing things in an American accent but soon got used to it.
Only negative was that in the male /female points of view the opposite sex was doing voices. e.g in Josie's chapters the female narrator put on mens voices. Would of been better to have the male narrator do it as made spicy scences a little awkward for me... but a small detail and did not take away from the amazing story!
