Clint Eastwood's most recent film Letters from Iwo Jima has been nominated for Best Director and Best Picture Academy Awards. His other 2006 film, Flags of Our Fathers, was also nominated for two Oscars, in Sound Editing and Sound Mixing. Flags of Our Fathers follows the stories of the American soldiers who raised the flag in one of World War II's most enduring images. And Letters from Iwo Jima examines the battle from the perspective of the Japanese soldiers who fought it. Next, Ben Affleck, who has starred in the film Hollywoodland as George Reeves, the actor who played Superman in the original TV series. The film is about the real-life unsolved murder of Reeves. Its now out on DVD. Affleck co-wrote Good Will Hunting with Matt Damon and their screenplay won an Academy Award, and a Golden Globe Award. Affleck's other films include Shakespeare in Love, Dazed and Confused, Chasing Amy, and Dogma. He also wrote the screenplay for the upcoming film Gone, Baby, Gone based on the novel by Dennis Lehane.
