Summary

Kim White is a very popular cheerleader. She’s pretty, healthy, and comes from a well-off family. She has everything a girl of 16 is supposed to want. And she’s sick to death of it.

In search of something to pull her out of her suicidal thoughts, she begrudgingly decides to lose her virginity, having heard it’s a life-changing event. But Kim doesn’t want to do it the same way her peers do. She seduces one of her teachers, hoping to ruin his life just for the fun of it. This starts Kim on a runaway train of sadism, and she makes every effort to destroy the lives of those around her. But soon, simple backstabbing is not enough to keep her excited, and she nosedives into sabotage, violence, and even murder.

When Kim finds out she’s pregnant with her teacher’s child, a new madness overtakes her, and she realizes there’s only one thing that will satisfy her baby’s hunger....

mean girl gone psycho

this book was great. It was refreshing to read fom the unapologetic villans pov. it was very disturbing and a great slowburn splatterpunk. I do recommend this book, but it's definitely not for everyone.

American cheerleader psycho

A subtle and delicate tale of whimsical charm about a young girls coming of age. Okay, not really. It's about a disaffected teenage girl who on the surface has everything. She's clever, beautiful, rich, popular, successful, resourceful......and so on. Unfortunately she is also dead inside and a grade A sociopath. The whole book is told from her unflinching and increasingly deranged perspective. She starts off deciding to lose her virginity in the vague hope it will make her feel something. It does but not what she was hoping. What she discovers is she likes to hurt people and as the tale goes on she descends further and further into sadism, torture, murder and cannibalism.
This certainly comes under the extreme horror banner but has more to offer than many of its contemporaries. It certainly ticks off all the boxes you would expect but is more concerned about characters than just a constant roundabout of gross out scenes designed to revolt. Instead we get an interesting character study of a sociopathic and utterly iredeemable young womans downwards spiral into depraved madness as she unleashes hell on everyone around her. It's aided by a very strong narrator who really sells the character. It's well written and the characters seem real. It's immoral and nihilistic. Our lead is one of the most appalling monsters ever put to paper but whilst never sympathetic is strangely compelling and I remained involved in her story and invested all the way through.
I loved this book and would highly recommend it. Only be aware it is a nasty and dark journey into a nasty and dark persons psyche. There is no light here, no redemption, no happy endings and alot of cruelty and disturbing content. Fab!

definitely don't suggest

nothing but shock value, and even that got boring fast.
having listened to other titles by the author I was hopeful but this was just teen porn with gore. little to no story or character development, the gore got old fast.

the narrator did well, but I wouldn't waste a credit here when you can find a million other shock horror stories worth the money.
