About this listen
All five series of the award-winning BBC Radio 4 comedy - plus World Cup, Glastonbury and Brexit Specials.
Meet Budleigh Salterton's most famous son, Giles Wemmbley Hogg: bumbling backpacker, fearless investigator of cultural diversity, connoisseur of Eastern philosophies and upper middle-class student ponce. In these five series, armed with his trusty portable DAT and his Charterhouse rugby shirt, Giles bravely ventures forth to far-off foreign lands and records his adventures.
His meanderings take him from the Sudan to Las Vegas - but wherever he goes, he always manages to make a thumping great prat of himself. His escapades include toppling the Terracotta Army in China; unleashing a deadly pharaoh's curse in Egypt, bankrupting a Japanese financial institution; organising an Agatha Christie-style septuagenarian hen night on the Orient Express and serving up a full-scale biohazard lockdown in Yumsk. Grounded by the Home Office and his father, he sets up a travel advice/events management website from his bedroom, proudly named GWH Travvel ('two m's, two g's, two v's: bit of a mix up at the printers'). And when an American mogul tries to buy up his beloved town, Giles decides to run for mayor....
Also included are five special episodes featuring the intrepid traveller and worldly guru. In the three-part World-Cup-themed Giles Wemmbley Hogg Geht Zum Fussballweltmeisterschaft Weg!, he heads to Germany to report on the famous football competition - and finds himself embroiled in a series of baffling adventures and mishaps. In...To Glastonbury, he blunders muddily around the festival, accompanied by his ever-unhelpful fiancée, Bella, and a ragtag assortment of hippies; and in...Article 50, he vows to heal the rift between Brexiteers and Remoaners once and for all by ruddy well sorting out Brexit.
Written by Marcus Brigstocke, Jeremy Salsby and Toby Davies, and starring Marcus Brigstocke as Giles and Doon Mackichan and Catherine Tate as Arabella, this hilarious spoof travelogue features a wealth of guest stars including Tom Goodman-Hill, Dave Lamb, Rebecca Front, Neil Dudgeon, Olivia Colman, David Mitchell, Celia Imrie, Alison Steadman, Morwenna Banks, Mitch Benn, Laura Solon, Miranda Hart, Raad Rawi, Alexander Armstrong, Richard Dillane, and Sandi Toksvig.

Fantastic parody of upper middle class idiot
A modern classic which reminds us of how ridiculous people can be. Laugh out loud.

Hands down hilarious
This is really laugh out loud funny, when recalling some of it, I laughed so much i could barely breath... at this point i wondered if it was possible to actually die laughing. It's really silly humour and Giles Dribbly Bob is a superb character, who basically gets everything wrong and you still love him. This is the gift that keeps on giving, I am still finding hilarious bits that I somehow missed in 6 previous listens!

Good
If you like Millport or Lunch (bbc comedy) you will like this! easy listen with laughs now and then. Its not laugh out loud (like Clare in the community) but entertaining to listen to.

Hilarious
Took a couple of episodes to get into this and then, for me,it got funnier and funnier. All performances were excellent ,great script. At times that rarest of things, laugh out loud humour. It has a whiff of Alan Partridge and that’s praise indeed. It’s been my companion for a couple of weeks of dog walking and I am going to miss it.

At last, the complete GWH experience.
Having bought the Audible separates of GWH, I was aware that the Haiti episode was missing from series 3 but had no idea about the rest.
This compilation includes some additional music which was cut from the originals including a whole running gag about Neil Diamond from an episode in S5. Also the first time that the Brexit episode has been available.
Giles is a great character and although he’s caused chaos around the world, I feel there is more to come from him. His fiancée Arabella seems to vanish after S4 which is a shame as no explanation is given (one presumes that Catherine Tate is just too expensive ;-) ).
The stories are funny and stand up to multiple repeat visits. There are some stunning cameos and an array or equally bonkers recurring characters.
One of the very best - and this is the definitive version of it.

Such an enjoyable listen!
Had never heard of this series so took a chance but have found it such good fun to listen to. Following the feckless Giles around the world is always enjoyable and often hilarious. Many thanks to Marcus and the team for this.

Rasict
Not even an hour in and I can't beleive how rasict stereo typed this is.
Comments such as chinky, slitty eyed.
Noy sure if it's supposed to be funny or not?
Have yet to decide if it's good or not
It's not little Britain, but it's a comedy with stupid comments thrown in... It doesn't flow
