The simple, age-old stories of human character at its best and worst are made a true work of genius, fun and pure joy and delight by Miss Read. Knowing I have so many books of excellent, beautiful writing, gentle and yet razor-sharp, ahead of me fills me with immense joy. Simply flawless.
