Excellent stories ruined.
What disappointed you about Guy de Maupassant: Selected Stories?
Such excellent stories — Guy de Maupassant writes such insightful and carefully crafted gems — ruined by mechanical reading. Reader after reader fails to add any emphasis, drama or life to these fascinating stories. I cannot remember enduring such poor readings since school when each member of the class was pressganged into reading a part in a Shakespeare play.
Any additional comments?
There must be better readings of these excellent stories elsewhere — I would recommend anyone to go and find them.
