Summary
Onyx: I'm a city wolf - a damaged and injured one at that. Obviously, the absolute last place I should be when I'm in heat is in the middle of the woods with unmated male shifters in the wild able to scent me. But here I am, running for my life. I'm not used to anyone being nice to me, let alone helping me. Even being the daughter of a pack alpha doesn't keep you safe when you're the lone freak in your pack who can't shift. I'm being hunted out here in the woods, and yet somehow I feel safe on the doorstep of the big, brusque stranger who offers me sanctuary. Taron isn't like any of the shifters I grew up around. He's a bear shifter for one - an alpha, no less - with a protective streak a mile wide...for me.

LOVED IT! 😍
This is probably one of the best shifter romances I’ve ever heard (aside from the Cheysuli series by Jennifer Roberts which is my all time favourite).
This book though, the plot was amazeballs and with a bunch of twists and turns. The writing was wonderful and well paced and the romance was so sweet and lovely. It was totally engaging and I really enjoyed the characters. The MFC background was so nicely written and her growth felt really natural . The MMC was exactly what I’d expect from a bear alpha. Calm, solid and warm. I really enjoyed him and how he was written.
Finally the narration. Nothing to complain about here at all. Such great narrators that both really portrayed their characters wonderfully and lifted the story and made it flow so nicely.
Absolutely worth a listen.

Shifter romance ❤️🔥❤️
Taron and Onyx have wonderful chemistry. Taron is a bear shifter and Onyx is a she-wolf shifter. Onyx doesn't have a great relationship with her family and suffers abuse. Taron is her light and helps her grow and thrive.

Fun plot and characters.
Annoying that Alex Kydd only gets the epilogue chapter, I thought it was dual pov. But it was a fun time, the story is entertaining. Natalie was alright as the main narrator, didn’t fully vibe with her voice tho

recommend reading not listening
Great story. I listened to the audiobook and the female narrator voice cut me. I wasn’t sure if she was angry or happy. she ruis ut 4 me main female character very unlikeable very annoying.
