About this listen
From Wall Street Journal and USA Today best-selling author M. Robinson, a coming-of-age, enemies-to-lovers contemporary romance filled with angst and all the feels.
I couldn’t remember a time before her...Harley Jameson.
Before she owned me.
Hated me.
Needed me.
Before I hated her....
Things were simple.
We had an understanding.
Bully. Fight. Hate. It’s what we did.
Mind. Body. Soul. It’s how we loved.
I thought nothing would ever change that, until everything did.
She was mine.
Always had been.
Always would be.
Nothing altered that.
Not how much I hated her.
Not how much she hated me.
Especially, not how much I hated...that I loved her.

Emotional
This is a good start to this couple. I love how they loved to hate each other when they were younger. It’s a typical young love story. With lots of emotions throughout. A great performance.

Ok
Jackson and Harley have known each other since they were very young and they hated each but there’s a fine line between love and hate and they will realise that when they’re older. Although I enjoyed the story I felt it was let down by the male narrator and I just couldn’t enjoy it as much as I would have liked.

I’m in love with this wonderful book!
It’s hard for me to put into words how much I loved this book. The author and narrators give voice to a childhood love-hate crush that feels authentic and really sounds the way kids talk and feel as they try to navigate the world. Jackson Pierce is a smart-mouth, aggressive boy who comes up against an equally wise-mouthed, confident Harley Jameson. Definitely not friends, they are unwittingly both aligned and pitted against each other through family friends. The writing narration are pitch perfect. There were so many times I caught myself laughing out loud as these two can’t decide if they love and hate each other. Clever and fast-paced, I can’t wait for the next installment.
I received a free copy to review, but I loved this book so much. I felt like my heart would break at times, even when I was laughing. It ends on a cliff-hanger, but I just know the second part of this series will make it all totally worth it. Highly, highly recommend.

Terrible Cliffhanger!
We watch Harley and Jackson from the age of six. I loved their banter and the letters were hilarious. There were wonderful laugh out loud moments and it reminded me so much of Scout and Jem from To Kill a Mockingbird.
It wasn't a typical bully "hate" story full of angst, thank goodness, and the portrayal of what Jackson went through with his mother's dementia was gut wrenching.
I just felt that it got a bit boring at one point with too much introspection of his family saga with the introduction of Mary Poppins. Then all too swiftly Jackson, for whatever reason 🙄 being a complete idiot ruins it by breaking little Harley's heart. 😒
I loved the narration by new to me narrators #irisashley and #michaelnormanjohnson who brought both characters beautifully to life with their accents and I will definitely be looking out for more books narrated by them.
I hate cliffies so can't wait for #2 to drop to see how Jackson redeems himself, if indeed he does!

Emotional Rollercoaster
This book will have you laughing and you definitely will cry as well. This starts out in the present then quickly moves into the past and tells the story of Harley and Jackson from little kids until teenagers their hate and love for each other. The ups and downs of this relationship is wow. Jackson is a character that I love and hated at times but he goes through something very emotional for a kid something that stays with you forever. I can not wait to listen to book two to see what becomes of Harley and Jackson.
