About this listen
Does a ghost from the past want the man of her future?
Callie is thrilled when she inherits a house in the small town of Shadow Valley. The house is old and creaky, but she’s not afraid of hard work. Unfortunately, no matter how many repairs she makes, the strange noises won’t go away. Cold spots appear. Lights flicker. Footsteps sound down the hallway. Her nerves are soon so frayed that she resorts to calling the one person in town she hasn’t been able to get along with, bullheaded police chief Carter Landry.
Carter doesn’t have time to investigate things that go bump in the night - although, with Callie, the idea is tempting. He’s busy working with the governor’s task force on a major case and dealing with a rash of petty Halloween crimes. He knows that Callie’s house isn’t haunted...no matter what town legend says.
Still, when her distress call comes in, Carter is quick to respond. He may not believe in ghosts, but someone is intentionally scaring the sassy blonde. And he doesn’t like it. As he investigates, the friction between the two of them ignites into passion...and the strange occurrences in the house subside. But could Carter’s presence be the reason? Callie fears that her sexy cop may be the one the ghost has wanted all along.

brilliant ghost story
plenty of bumps in the night, with equal amounts of romance...would not mind getting stopped by the police chief myself..😘

So good
I’m not keen on ghost stories but this is so good . Cally is only in town for a few minutes when she’s pulled over by Carter the police chief for speeding. Carter tries to forget her but he falls fast and hard for her he tries to protect her from the ghost stories surround the house she inherited . When strange things start to happen he tries to convince her it’s anything but the ghost it really is .

Callie and Carter
Ghost stories aren't my usual genre but something about this book appealed so I decided to download it and listen. I am so glad I did because I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Callie writes a syndicated advice column, Quick Kate, and can work from anywhere thanks to the wonders of the internet. When she inherits an old house from an aunt she didn't even know she's thrilled and decides to make her home in the small town of Shadow Valley. The house may be old and in need of work but she’s not afraid of hard work. But she wasn't prepared to be sharing the house with one of her ancestors, Abigale the lady who originally had the house built. She hears strange noises and experiences cold spots. Food disappears, lights flicker and footsteps sound down the hallway and the lock on her bedroom door keeps sticking, or does it?
One night the terror she feels is just too much and she resorts to calling 911 who immediately send to her aid the one person in town she hasn’t been able to get along with, police chief Carter Landry. Carter doesn’t have time to investigate things that go bump in the night—although for Callie he's willing to make an exception.
I'm not going to say more about the book, no spoilers from me - what I will say is the story flows well, has some wonderful characters and held my attention from beginning to end. This is a book which I have no hesitation in recommending. The narration by Susan Marlowe is well done and enhanced my enjoyment of this book.

Loved this!
A romantic suspense with a paranormal twist. The chemistry between Callie and Carter was brilliant. I loved the banter between them as well as their silly bickering at beginning if the novel. This was a really enjoyable listen. I'll be looking out for more by the author. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy.

Haunted hearts
Callie has inherited a house, and the rumors are the police get called a lot on this house. As soon as she gets to town she is greeted by the sheriff, the don’t have a great start. So she befriends the troubled youth next door. But with most ghosts they start to make themselves known and the adventure begins. The narration was nice and fit the story well.
