Narrator Sherry Norfolk performs with emotion and drama, yet manages to keep the mood of the stories intimate, like a friend breathlessly sharing gossip. She conveys the feelings of the characters with believability, from despair in "Tezin" to malicious joy in "Song of the Shepherdess". The stories are linked together with original hammer dulcimer music, which provides a lovely bridge.
