About this listen

In Haunted Liverpool 34, cult author Tom Slemen documents some strange beings, including faceless terrors, moving statues, real-life vampires, shape-shifting entities, and time-slips. In this audiobook, you will not listen to the usual lame and hackneyed worn-out stories of ghosts; you will listen to original stories concerning the Lost House of Sefton Park, the terrifying visitor to a 24-hour supermarket in the wee small hours who spread terror among the staff with the macabre contents of his holdall, the sounds of a battle that was being waged 8,000 miles away that was heard in the centre of Liverpool, the enigmatic Keyhole Dancers, the sinister Capri that terrorized the city centre of Liverpool and evaded numerous police road traps, the 22 men in a hospital ward who all experienced the same moving dream, and the Curse of the Three Jesters. You will come face to face with the real Grim Reaper, and listen about the heart-stopping dangers of haunted vintage items bought online and in shops - including the red dress which stirs up the ghost of a child killer. You will also be given permission to listen to Tom Slemen’s collection of baffling, eerie mysteries that he keeps locked away in the section “File it Under Unknown”, and you will listen about the strange cultists known as the Lily White Boys - who sacrifice people to their nature god. These are just some of the unspeakable things touched upon in Haunted Liverpool 34.

Stories with sound effects!

Really enjoyed listening to this. What made it for me is the narration which is very good - the right voice for horror stories and a very easy listen at bedtime.
The other thing that is excellent, is the sound effects; car doors closing, ambient background noise etc. All make for a very immersive experience and definitely raise this up above the norm.
My only minor niggle, and it is very minor, is the Liverpool accents! (I know it's set in Liverpool, but I found the accent took me out of the moment - but this is a very personal thing and probably won't bother most people). Other than that, the narrator is excellent and definitely one of the better ones and make this a very easy recommend.

Another Triumph

I’ve loved these Haunted Liverpool audiobooks for some time.
Once again the wonderfully talented Nigel Peever brings these stories to life with his addiction narration techniques

Great stories

As someone with autism i found all the music and sound effects extremely distracting which makes me lose focus on the story.

I used to love these audio books before they added the sound effects.

It would be great if there were two options available, one with and one without the sound effects.

Apart from that, the book is fantastic.

Love the stories, narration and sound effects are annoying

Love Tom Slemen’s books and his stories, but the narration of these audio books and additional sound effects are very irritating.

Accents

This book is ruined by ridiculous, comic like Liverpool impressions. I honestly can’t believe the person who sat recording this thought it was decent.
