Summary

A woman drowning in sorrow. Invisible.

The man that sees it all. Sees her.

The only thing that gets Charlotte Prescott through the day is the haunting eyes and magnetic voice that uplifts her in the subway station every evening.

All Montgomery Logan wants to do is ease the pain of the woman he feels a strange, protective draw to. He serenades her from afar, knowing their worlds will never intersect.

Until the day they do. And everything changes.

Will their differences make them stronger or tear them apart?

Contains mature themes.

Gorgeous!

This has been a gorgeous audio. With a lovely, well developed story centering round two beautiful souls, Lotte and Ligan, I have loved plugging in an immersing myself. Maxinne Mitchell and Aiden Snow are excellent story tellers. They both bring it to life, particularly Maxine. Her nuanced, expressive telling covers such a range of emotion. Wonderful 💖💖💖💖💖

Logqn definitely fulfilled my rocker fantasy. He packs a punch, but he's still gentle to the touch!

A gorgeous sweet love story

Wow… another book just made the favorites list for me which is a feat in its self.

The way this love story developed is a fairytale dream. Not all sunshine and rainbows, ‘cos that’s not realistic, but the way Logan sees Lottie’s pain is the way I believe everybody at least once in their life time wish they could be seen.

The relationship the main characters have develops quickly in a “love at first sight and from a distance” way but their maturity and respect for each other makes it work and feel totally legit. There’s some amazing writing in this book.

There is that story peak of course but it’s refreshing and the drama is external and not some forced way to drive the main characters apart, which also in this case, is totally in line with their characters and the maturity of their make up.

Also I must say I admire Melanie’s writing here a lot. Being a musician myself I often feel authors try to much with the music theme and goes off into music theory and chord progressions, that feel more like a writer that learned some music than a musician describing or talking about the process to me.
Not Melanie though.
She treats the craft with respect and writes it like a natural part of her MMC without having to name drop chord progressions or make up lyrics that feel cringy and she still gets the feel of it across so very well and makes the music part of the story feel totally believable to me as a musician. Major kudos.

Maxine Mitchell and Aidan Snow does some top notch narration too. Maxine always manage to bring great depth to her characterizations and has a true knack for bringing out the melancholy and sadness in her characters when needed. She does this amazingly in her interpretation of Lottie. Aidan’s voice brings that low, rumbling, calm, stable feel to the character of Logan which is exactly in line with how I feel Melanie’s written him. Also his voice is always calming, yummy and expressive and both narrators are on the top of my all time favorite narrator list.

A must read if you ask me.

A gentle love story

A delightful story between two souls with a loving hero ( not an aggressive alpha male) and sweet heroine. A refreshing change. Narration was very good but could have better with a duet style.

A beautiful love story

I loved this story. It brought back many memories of my first born and the issues my parents had with my partner. I’m so glad the Dad came round. Dads should really listen to their daughters, when they’ve met their perfect match.

As always, Aiden and Maxine brought the story to life.

Looking forward to the next book.

3.5 stars robotically sweet

I really wanted to love this, but it was the sort of story that goes through the motions, but doesn’t grab you and emotionally bring you on the journey. I’m sure there will be some people who adore this book, especially people who are longing for connection. I guess I was just aware it was a story the whole time, whereas with other books I feel like I get to know the characters and I become invested. Bit over-sweet and lacking authenticity, but still a nice story.
