Aber die Hähne merkten nichts vom Frieden alter Baumkronen und nichts von der Heiligkeit durchsonnter Sommerstille. Sie standen da, starrten sich an und zankten sich. Es war auf dem Futterplatz dem Ort, wo sich die meisten zankenden Hähne zusammenfinden.
