About this listen

Something akin to peace has come to the Underdark. The demon hordes have receded, and now the matron mothers argue over the fate of Drizzt Do'Urden. Even so, it becomes clear to one matriarch after another that while the renegade drow may come and go, Menzoberranzan, the City of Spiders, will crawl forever on.

And so Drizzt is free to return to his home on the surface once again. Scores are settled as lives are cut short, yet other lives move on. For the lone drow, there is only a single final quest: a search for peace, for family, for home - for the future.

Hero picks up where Maestro left off, in a sweeping climax to an epic tale.

made a nice change to have some depth to the character of Drizzt even if only briefly

Drizzit is once again saved by plot armour. I believe that Salvatore is now utterly bored of the character. This was an ok effort in a series that can be best discribed as ok at best. there's a few pleasurable moments and the ending was a pleasant surprise that sets up for the next book.

ok story

Never would I have imagined the ending being what it was. So happy and pleased for a beautiful finish to a story. I hope this is not the last we hear/read of drizzt and the now legion of the hall.

What a finale

Great story with plenty of action, adventure and magic the staple you come to expect from a D&D book written by R A Salvatore. Victor Bevine does a perfect job reading the Stories

Another great book from R A Salvatore

After 33 books and over 350 hours of listening. Victor finally figured out how to pronounce short-lived.

Nothing in this story can compare to the satisfaction I felt when Victor discovered the sound from 'live' and 'alive' are not interchangeable in that word.

Brilliant series now that my biggest pet peeve has been rectified.

Everything I wanted from Victor brevine

Never saw that coming, but no spoilers. After being somewhat dissapointed with the ending of maestro, as it seemed to be hurried and lacked the usual detail one expects from Robert Salvatore.

All is forgiven, Hero is a fantastic book and the ending providing such expectation and hope that this will not be the last adventure for the companion's of the hall.

The possibilities opened in this book leave one salivating for the next installment.

Great ending

I’ve listened to every single Drizzt book and this is easily the worst in terms of quality. Mid-sentence, it sounds like the recording equipment/location drastically changes which breaks immersion. It’s an audiobook, from a series that has made loads of money, there is no excuse for how poor it is.

Worst recording quality of all the Drizzt books
