Emotionally driven and easy to fall into, Nicole Dykes once again pulls me into her story. This is the first M/M romance I have listened to by her and it's fabulous. Coming of age, finding their way, opposites attract, we meet Grayson and Rhett. Grayson the popular baseball player knows he's not interested in girls, but also knows his future depends on not coming out. Rhett truly has no idea where his future is, but an attraction to Grayson is definitely showing him the way. But will the secret relationship weather the storms that are on the horizon? This book encompasses all the things I love about Nicole Dykes. She takes her characters and makes them real. These are young adults we all know, and the way she folds them into her story creates all the feels of true life. Grayson is every athlete in high school. He knows his friends, he knows what they expect and he delivers that. Rhett is able to see the open, raw side of him. Rhett is damaged, only able to relate to his siblings who have grown up like him. This is the first time he gets to be free to truly be himself. It's a beautiful coming of age story and should not be missed.

Devon Ryder and Bryant Walker are our storytellers and they are great together. Both used their voices making us feel each emotion and found the essence of their characters. I really enjoyed the way their voices complimented each other and created the world for us to enter. It's a fabulous listen.

To say that I enjoyed this book would be a lie because I loved this book, the characters and their building relationship made this one that was impossible to pause. The mix of sunshine and grump, the dash of angst and sweetness all came together perfectly in this book.

I love Nicoles writing and this is by far and away one of my favourites.

The narration was just so perfect as well it really highlighted so much of the emotions and the character quirks that they have. Just listen to it, you know you want to.

Ahhh, Nicole totally got me with this one 🥰 I am a sucker for a broken boy, and Rhett definitely fits that category.

Rhett and Grayson are the total opposite on paper, but as they get to know each other, they realise that they have a lot more in common than they thought, and as their friendship grows so does their attraction and the results are fire 🔥.

I love Nicoles writing, and this is a perfect example of why I was so engrossed by this story that I couldn't stop listening to it. Nicole writes characters that are so relatable, and you can't help but feel connected to them.

The narrators were amazing for this story and really brought Grayson and Rhett to life in the best possible way, capturing every emotion perfectly

There’s so many different layers to this book. Not only is it a coming of age book but also a confused sexuality, kids in the system, bully parents not accepting child’s choices and a beautiful love story as well. A great performance from both Bryant and Devon.

This was a beautiful story between two precious characters The golden retriever Grayson and little grump Rhett. It was so sweet when they finally got together. I love how much angst ND puts into their books and although I've read angstier from her this was a perfect cleanser for my palette. Really do rep this authors work. Big fan.
