About this listen
When Claire and her aunt stumble upon an orphaned puppy in the woods, it looks like a match made in heaven. Claire has recently lost her parents, and the dog seems like the perfect thing to help her heal. But when Fido begins to mature, Claire discovers that he isn't quite what he appears to be.
©2012 Marla Braziel (P)2018 Marla BrazielBut what happens if the werewolf mates with a wolf? This paranormal romance is just such a story. 15 year old Claire is orphaned and comes to live with her aunt and uncle. She finds an orphaned puppy and adopts it. Only the puppy is a devilhound, a wolf that can shift to human but retains his wolf consciousness throughout. This is their bittersweet story.
I enjoyed this unusual twist on the paranormal romance theme. It is short and rather well put together. Marla Braziel has managed to keep the story thick with detail and short in length, allowing each part of the story to be relevant to the plot. Kate Tyler brings Claire to life with all the dramatic flair of a teenage girl-woman. Overall enjoyable, sweet and a little sad.

A twist on the usual werewolf romance
