En lille frø falder ned fra himlen og lander lige i hovedet på Birk. Den har stadig noget af sin haletudsehale, og det sidste den husker er, at den var i færd med at kravle på land. Ask er ikke i tvivl: Frans Frø har været ved at ende som hejremad! Desværre er frøens lunger ikke er helt færdigudviklede endnu, og så har han virkelig brug for at komme tilbage til vandhullet så hurtigt som muligt. Men vejen derhen er fyldt med farer for tre små dyr.
