About this listen

You're not who you say you are. Neither is she.

She thinks she knows me.

She believes my marriage is falling apart at the seams, that my husband can barely look me in the eyes. She thinks I’m desperate for a baby, that my longing for a family keeps me up at night. As much as I hate to admit it, all of this is true.

She thinks I listen to her advice, that I care about her opinion. That couldn’t be further from the truth.

Because she has no idea who I am. She has no clue that I know everything.

I know her secret. I know that she did the unforgivable. I know how many lives she ruined.

I know exactly what she did. And I’m here for her.

An utterly gripping, addictive and shocking listen about the dark secrets we’re ashamed to admit, and the lengths people go to for revenge.

I enjoyed it somewhat, but the end felt disjointed

Twisting and turning throughout, but the end felt rushed. I thought it to be far fetched. Great narrator....I think had anyone else done it, it wouldn't have worked. It's a 4⭐⭐⭐⭐ from me

Bit disappointed

I was looking forward to listening to this as I’d seen some good reviews, however, I found it hard to get into the story.

I really like Tamsin Kennard as a narrator but it might have helped if there were two narrators as I kept getting confused as to who was telling the story Beth or Danielle.

I also feel like the story could’ve been developed more.

Yawn!

This isa good book if you want something to get you off to sleep. Nothing much happens till the last three chapters when everyone starts confessing. It was well read but nothing could compensate for lack of good story line. Hard to understand how this audiobook got 4.5 stars but it happens all too frequently. Will not be looking for anything else from this writer.

Great book

It was predictable but a good listen. I love Tamsin as a narrator. She makes anything sound great! But this was a good story anyway. Just my kind of thing. Would make a great series!

Worst book I’ve listened to in a long time.

It seems there was absolutely no research done in how therapy works before writing this abysmal saga. None of the characters had any personality and the narrator didn’t help by making them all talk fast and aggressive and totally void of any feeling or depth. The story was like lumpy porridge but instead of spitting the lumps out and getting an explanation, ....we (as the listener) are forced to swallow the lumpy bits without question and say yes this all sounds pretty realistic. Well NO. I'm not swallowing your lumpy icky porridge.

Really, really bad.

This is so awful, the plot is clunky, a child could have come up with better.

It’s like a thriller by numbers, the characters are completely drippy, the storyline completely unbelievable, the ‘twists’ boring and predictable.

As I was listening I kept thinking it had to get better but nope, it is unremittingly rubbish from start to finish.

The one saving grace is that it is mercifully brief.
