About this listen

**NOW AN AMAZON PRIME TV SERIES STARRING CHRIS PRATT**

'Take my word for it, James Reece is one rowdy motherf***er. Get ready!' CHRIS PRATT

A woman boards a plan in Burkina Faso having just completed a targeted assassination for the state of Israel. Two minutes after takeoff her plane is blown out of the sky.

6000 miles to the east, James Reece watches the names and pictures of the victims cross cable news. One face triggers a distant memory of a Mossad operative attached to the CIA years earlier in Iraq, a woman with ties to the intelligence services of two nations, a woman Reece thought he would never see again…

In a global pursuit spanning four continents, James Reece will enlist the help of friends new and old to track down her killer and walk right into a trap set by a master sniper, a sniper who has enlisted help of his own…

The 5th in the bestselling James Reece series, from former Navy SEAL Jack Carr. If you loved Lee Child's Jack Reacher, Peter James's Roy Grace or Michael Connelly's Mickey Haller, you will love James Reece!

Very enjoyable but not James Reece’s best outing.

Story was engaging and as usually Carr brings an incredible amount of detail to the story which only adds to the intrigue.

However, the end chapters didn’t quite conclude as I would have liked but I guess you can’t kill a cash cow.

Struggling with the narration

I love Jack carr books and I love his James Reece character. This story is great.

I’m just really unhappy with ray porter’s narration this time. Normally he’s one of the few American narrators I can actually listen to without grimacing and cringing constantly but this time he was flat and lacking in enthusiasm or interest and he was horribly nasal. I nearly didn’t make it past chapter 2 because of the hideous sound of his blocked nasal passage.

I believe the narration should either add to the experience, or, at best, be so good that you don’t notice it and get absorbed in the story completely, ray doesn’t manage either of those this time. He also is embarrassingly rubbish at accents and portraying female characters.

awesome

having listened to the first three books, I found that the opening to this book was very going. then, as the author always does, this book dropped a gear and pumped the accelerator hard. I found myself stopping work to listen to the last part of the chapters because I was on the edge of my seat. I cannot wait for the next book to come out

Excellent story. Very informative.

Apart from the rather dodgy “Rhodesian” accent, the reader is clear and apart from the Italian mispronunciation of Italian words, he’s good! I’m ex-Rhodesian and live in Italy. 😂👍🏼
