Sometimes when Jayne touches a person she can see their horrific death that includes her Sister and the new English boy at school who she is falling for. She has a premonition about a girl who is killed by a serial killer and she goes to the police and somehow he finds out and now he’s after her too.
Although this book is in the YA category I really enjoyed it and I’m 57 . There’s a few twists and turns and it keeps you guessing however I guessed a certain person had links to the serial killer but I won’t spoil it for future listeners.
Lucy Emerson did a great job with the narration and I commend her on Aaron’s English accent.

The story starts of well, with a varied amount of action. We are brought into this girls life, who if she looks into someones eyes she see's visions of there death. She has a warning first as the visions are accompanied with the smell of lemons so she try to avoid their eyes if she doesn't want to see their lives their life in small flashes up to the moment they die. This book had some really good plots i think (spoilers alert) as she tries to avoid her little sister's eyes not wanting to see how she dies. A new boy at school who she falls for instantly and likes her back but she avoids his eyes and appears cold not wanting to see his death either. But in the end its inevitable that she will eventually have the visions. She has no one she can tell about these visions, her family don't believe her and in the past medicated her and wrote it off as a mental health disorder, with her father telling her to never speak of it again to anyone.
The story is quite slow going, several times in the book i found myself wishing they would just get on with it. It was pretty obvious that her teacher was somehow involved and towards the end the story picks up pace and ends with a interesting twist.
The narrator was good and brought the characters and the story to life.
This is a good young adults story with a good message about trusting the people most important in your life and following your intuition.

I would say this is a great introduction into crime fiction for young adults. This is a paranormal crime crossover which is a very interesting mix. This is definitely a slow burn and ever so slightly repetitive at the beginning waiting for this story to really kick off but once it does it’s a really addictive read. The MC is really well fleshed out and although doesn’t make choices I would make she makes the choices a typical teenager would whilst being a very strong character for the most part. I loved her best friend Dana and their friendship spoke volumes throughout this book. Arron and Steven were interesting I kinda just wanted to knock their heads together at times 😅 but again this is pretty typical behaviours of a lot of teenagers so it works really well in this story.
