About this listen
On the planet Tython, the ancient Je’daii order was founded. And at the feet of its wise Masters, Lanoree Brock learned the mysteries and methods of the Force - and found her calling as one of its most powerful disciples. But as strongly as the Force flowed within Lanoree and her parents, it remained absent in her brother, who grew to despise and shun the Je’daii, and whose training in its ancient ways ended in tragedy.
Now, from her solitary life as a Ranger keeping order across the galaxy, Lanoree has been summoned by the Je’daii Council on a matter of utmost urgency. The leader of a fanatical cult, obsessed with traveling beyond the reaches of known space, is bent on opening a cosmic gateway using dreaded dark matter as the key - risking a cataclysmic reaction that will consume the entire star system. But more shocking to Lanoree than even the prospect of total galactic annihilation, is the decision of her Je’daii Masters to task her with the mission of preventing it. Until a staggering revelation makes clear why she was chosen: The brilliant, dangerous madman she must track down and stop at any cost is the brother whose death she has long grieved - and whose life she must now fear.

Brilliant! very well read and a really good story
fantastic book realy well read January Labour reads brilliantly! realy got me into this syltory and its heart reanchingly good at times. and you get the Eruption short story on the end. I spent all night and the next day gardening while listening to this! it's such a shame that the books that have inspired these are no longer part of the real star wars canon anymore.

A must listen
A brilliant story from before there was Jedi and Sith. A time when the Je'daii order lives in balance. A gripping story and a must listen for any fan of Star Wars.

Not super good nareator
I enjoy other actors from Random House Audio. But this one seems full compared to the other Star Wars stories.

Excellent Star Wars story.
Good story premise. Ancient history in the Star Wars timeline. The sound effects add to the immersion.

a very clever story
Where does Into the Void: Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi, Book 2 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
mid to high
Who was your favorite character and why?
i can't say that i have a favourite character, but they are significantly different to the shall we say modern day Jedi.
What does January LaVoy bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
January is a new reader for the Star Wars extended universe. it's fitting that she reads a book set in a time when there are none of the usual characters you would expect to see in a star wars story. I would have to compare this story with another story where January reads with well known characters in it.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
yes but i found it quite hard going at first so i had to spread it over multiple sittings.
Any additional comments?
this story is definitely worth a read. especially when you look at the attitudes to the light and dark sides of the force from then and make coparisons to the republic and beyond era's. most interesting indeed.

Narrator not great
Wasn't keen on the narrator and unfortunately the story wasn't particularly strong. Nice to see the Jedi origins but a stronger protagonist and antagonist needed.
