About this listen

Curious, confounding and brilliant, Wittgenstein is a philosopher whom people find it easy to get obsessed with. In Investigating Wittgenstein, Giles Fraser explores the secrets of his attraction.

The How to Believe series explores the teachings, philosophies and beliefs of major thinkers and religious texts. In a short, easy-to-access format, leading writers present new understandings of these perennially important ideas.

I enjoyed this short account and reflection on applying Wittgenstein's "turn to language" and the impact on philosophy of science.

This is not a book, just thirty minutes of Christian "Don't think logicaly, just believe because it says so in the bibbbl

This is a fast food summary of some of Wittgenstein’s work for the religiously inclined.

Using Wittgenstein

Very poorly presented and badly argued. And the narrator sounds soulless and robotic. All in all a waste of time and money (fortunately it is extremely short)

A waste of time and money

As mentioned in other reviews, it’s quite lame and I feel lucky that it’s short and I didn’t spend money on it.
I can summarize it as: you believe because you grew up with it, don’t thinking reasons because “the god of the philosophers doesn’t exist” and “the church trying to explain god on those terms lost”.
This then contradicts the very existence of this writing “How to believe”, except if it’s a hint to parents to emphasize the indoctrination of their children.
I could write more but don’t think it’s worth the time.
