I understand how this sort of thing happens, as does everyone else that has ever contemplated the subject. Perhaps it's the reason we as a species turn to religion in such large numbers. When times are hard, it's easiest to take comfort in the idea that this is all God's plan. There is far too much going on in the universe to understand God's intention, so we simply have faith in God's guidance and continue on with the story of our lives.
