About this listen
'From Wham! to Spandau Ballet, from success to chaos in the blink of an eye - Martin and I are two ordinary people who have been on an extraordinary adventure together. Through it all, our commitment to each other and to our family is what has always mattered the most.' (Shirlie Kemp)
It's a Love Story tells the incredible story of Martin and Shirlie Kemp - from the moment they set eyes on each other, through their stellar careers, to raising a family together.
For the first time, fans and listeners will have an insight into their journey together, the lessons they have learned in the spotlight and behind the scenes, and their secrets to success, happiness and raising a loving family. This audiobook will uncover the personal highs and lows of Britain's favourite couple and the unbreakable bond that has kept them strong, no matter how hard the fight gets.
'40 years together has been filled with incredible highs, when every teenage dream and every wish literally came true, to the most horrifying of lows that belonged in our nightmares. Shirlie and I are always asked, "What's the secret to a long marriage?" - well, hopefully this book might answer that question!' (Martin Kemp)

Wonderful reminiscences from down-to-earth stars
I was a fanatical Wham! fan and George Michael was/is my idol, so it was brilliant and touching to hear both Shirley and Martin's memories of him and of their own lives and careers. Took me right back to the 80s. The book is warm, funny and sometimes shocking, esp Shirley's China tales and Martin's illness. Loved the paranormal stuff, very interesting. I listened to the whole thing in just 2 days. Wonderfully narrated by both; Martin could make a shopping list sound amazing, such a velvet voice.

Loved it!
Lovely to hear Martin and Shirlie's life. Heartwarming and tearjerking in places, but lovely to hear how their marriage is so strong, and have such a great family bond.

ROMEO & JULIET HAVE NOTHING ON THESE TWO
Every girl dreams of a Love like this ...so beautifully written and narrated that despite the despair, pain and total heartache of some chapters, the joy of true Love and kindness oozes from every spoken word .... this book has evoked a huge rollercoaster of raw emotion but has given me strength in a most difficult week too.....
I shall miss my daily visits into the lives of Shirlie and Martin the way we all miss George....
Thank you both SO much for sharing
Fondest wishes

Optimism and gratitude
Such a beautiful book, not just sharing a love story, but giving a sense of love, hope and optimism with every chapter. The joy of hearing some behind the scenes info is great for When and Spandau fans, and worth it for that alone. But being on the sidelines, listening to Martin and Shirlie's history unfold is a heart warming privilege. Martin's voice is as sublime as ever, and the insights of Shirlie's heart are precious.

Heart warming personal life story of love, family and friends
Honest and open sharing of family, romance, children, hurdles and loss. Nicely told by Shirley and Martin. As someone who partied in the 80s and 90s myself, was a fabulous reflection back. Their love for each other, their families and friends shines through.
