About this listen

It's 1938, and Maisie Dobbs is back in England. The German government has agreed to release a British subject from prison, but only if he is handed over to a family member.

Because the man's wife is bedridden and his daughter has been killed in an accident, the Secret Service wants Maisie - who bears a striking resemblance to the daughter - to retrieve him. However, the man she holds responsible for her husband's death has learned of her journey and is also desperate for her help....

"Journey to Munich," my first taste of the Maisie Dobbs series, is a pleasant mix of historical fiction and a thrilling mystery. I most enjoyed the undeniably anxious but masterfully crafted atmosphere of the story. I'm looking forward to seeing what awaits Maisie in the following books.

Relaxing and entertaining.

This was my first Maisie Dobbs novel. I loved it!
The plot was engaging, characters believable, (definitely want to meet Maisie again) and Julie Teal was so talented that I mostly thought there was a full cast of actors instead of just her narrating. Overall a great audio experience.

Really looked forward to my bedtime listening

Another gripping episode of this series, perfectly narrated. Visions of Lisa Minelli in Cabaret came to mind. RECOMMENDED
