About this listen

From USA Today best-selling author and multiple Bram Stoker Award winner David Niall Wilson, a historical fantasy of epic proportion.

There are monsters roaming the desert and menacing the roads. There are sorcerers, harlots, and gamblers rampant in the city. In a compound in a forest, at the base of a mountain, one man and his family have received a prophecy. There will be a reckoning. There will be a flood. They will survive, but only if they obey the prophecy. Only if they build an ark, where there is no water. Only if they gather all of the creatures of the world. Only if they are faithful. Everyone else? Well, they're going to die.

This is a book of prophecy and revelation, heroism and love. It is a very old story with a new twist. It is a very human story, drawing together the creatures of the heavens and the earth. This is not your mother's Noah, and it is not the Bible's Ark...and yet it is. Welcome to an alternate history where your only hope is not to miss the boat.

Ok so let me preface this.. if you are expecting a Biblical Jurassic Park trashy epic.. prepare to be somewhat disappointed!

BUT this is actually a really well put together little story. Packed with action and well paced, the time flew by whilst listening to it and I almost forgot I actually started listening with ulterior motives. The characters are well fleshed out and I found myself getting involved in their personal growth, losses and wins. I vaguely remembered the tale from school so cannot speak to how faithful it follows the OG but this is a good book that I will revisit again in the future.

Came 4 the B-Movie title,stayed 4 the Nephilim!

Looking at the title, I was expecting it to be a trashy Christians v dinosaurs mash-up (not that there's anything wrong with that), but Jurassic Ark is way more accomplished than that. Firstly, David Niall Wilson is a fantastic writer with a really great natural flowing style that is a pleasure to read. I have enjoyed everything of his that I've read.
Secondly, Joshua Saxon is a masterful narrator. He tells the story perfectly.
The combination of excellent writing and superb narratorion makes this another winner from Crossroad Press.
Highly recommended.
