About this listen
Walt and Maggie purchase a run-down mansion with plans to restore it to its former grandeur, not knowing that every previous owner had suffered a terrible tragedy due to a centuries-old curse.
During the restoration, the mysterious mansion reveals dark secrets that have been hidden away for decades. As restless spirits and hidden corpses are found, Walt and Maggie fear they may become the next victims of the evil curse.
©2018 Robert Thornhill (P)2018 Robert ThornhillWalt and his wife, Maggie, buy an old and derelict mansion which Maggie wants to restore to it's formed magnificence. Not Walt's choice, but Maggie is so excited by it, he cannot resist despite his reservation that it will simply be a money pit. His friends all tend to agree. But as work progresses, and Maggie researches the house's history, he finds he has purchased more than he expected.
Written with all of the humour, anticipation, thoughtful ideas and the marvellous set of supporting characters present in previous Lady Justice books, this is another delightful tale. And again, George Kutch is Walt, himself, intimately relating the story, warts and all, to the listeners, as well as voicing the other characters. As ever, a great performance.
Another stand alone book, number 33 in the series.
A pleasure and a joy. Recommended.

When Maggie falls in love with a fixer upper mansion Walt knows it is going to be a money pit but to keep his sweetie happy they buy it as an investment. But they had no clue what they were letting themselves in for. As Maggie works on making a scrap book of the mansions chequered past, Walt is left to deal with the workers who refuse to enter because of the strange goings on. Walt has no idea he will be playing a part in helping a ghost move on to the other side, getting an innocent man out of jail and finding stole money as well as getting an ancient curse removed.
George Kuch still manages to pull off an excellent example of why he is still the only voice for Walt Williams and his friends.
Mystery and intrigue, what more could you want?
