About this listen
"So I thought I might take up paragliding. You know, buy one on eBay and just jump off the cliff one morning."
Emily Willows is middle-aged, widowed, wealthy, and bored. When she makes those flippant remarks to her son over coffee one Friday, she has no inkling that within a few hours she will be facing the most terrifying situation of her life. Nor could she have guessed that she will be confronting it with the enigmatic young woman who moved in next door a few months ago and who has hardly spoken a word to her since. And neither of them has realized yet that after this meeting, their lives will never be the same again.

Great story, poor narration
Great story, twists and turns and great characters. Unfortunately, this author’s fantastic work was let down by the very poor narrator; terrible, laughable accents, quite a few northern bad accents considering it as set in Cornwall!

Not one of my favourites
Uneven, flat and unpleasant 'voices' in the narration of this, made it difficult to follow, or even care much about. Predicable female attitudes by the author, made it forgettable.

It ended abruptly
It was compelling, but fizzled out at the end. Why 15 words. I’ve ssid what I wanted to say in nine.

Fast moving, original plot.
I really enjoyed this story. I have commented before the Peter Grainger’s stories are not for the thriller market, but this title does move fast, and is one I could not put down. Also, it is an excellent choice for a listener coming to the author for the first time.

Kid nap and being held ransom
Fast moving keeping you on the edge of your seat, well written to keep you guessing about the end , Finnish was a little flat but over all a good listen

Spoilt by the narration.
Peter Grainger is currently my favourite author. I have listened to his DC Smith series and the spinoff series also. Both of which were performed beautifully by Gildart Jackson.
I will buy the hardcopies for the rest of this series as this narrator was definitely not up to scratch. All the West Country characters had northern accents and she she mispronounced place names (I can only remember Liskeard at the time of writing this) and I don’t feel she was that interested or engaged sadly.
