About this listen

MI5 agents Marina Griffin and Leo South are made to be together. But their mission's-end encounter with Ashkeloi gypsies in the Russian forest reveals a terrifying prophecy - a fate that will tear them apart, and re-echo into the lives of their sons, John and Mike.

Thirty years later, a deadly climate shift has opened up a seaway through the Arctic, and nuclear war is imminent as the global superpowers make a grab for the oil reserves suddenly exposed. Like everyone else, Mike and John just want to ride out the storm and protect the people they love, especially their boy Quin. But love isn't enough when the stakes are this high, and Mike and John too are in the grip of a destiny they can't avoid. Summoned from their Glastonbury farmhouse to the office of their ex-boss, James Webb, they discover not only the truth about their heritage but the forces they will have to encounter if the war for the Arctic - and the future of humanity - is to be won.

Amazing end to a series

I am at a loss for words. This whole series has been a ride of emotions both good and terrifying! As always the writing and language as well as the turn of phrase are astounding. I LOVE the literary level of all of Fox's works! The storyline is magestic! It was building up from last book and comes to an absolute head here. Some character decisions and actions have genuinely surprised me and made me really worry for their safety: something not many authors manage to do these days. I honestly did not expect the ending. It wasnt a HEA but a bittersweet one (Really dont want to spoil this one so not going to say more). The narration is glorious. I honestly cannot praise this book enough. But ofcourse as always trigger warning as in the previous books as this discusses some really dark themes. But if you have no issue with that then DEFINITELY GIVE THIS A LISTEN!!

An epic saga

Read the 2 books on the series in order and didn’t want the story to end.
Wonderful narration absolutely made this magical.

A sequel with a twist.

Both books are great, I would 100% recommend this one too. Enjoy the new twists and turns that Mike and Griffin take. This story answers a lot of questions left by the first one, and throws a few heartbreaks and magic in too.
some other reviews have said this wasn't necessary, but I think it made the story even better. I will definitely be listening to them both again.

Excellent sequel

I loved this book and series, the excitement and tension builds as the story develops. A fantastic spy/cold war. The relationship between the two main characters is fantastic. The story very strong, I do hope there is a third book.

Strange

This book tries to amalgamate to many story tropes. Armagegon, male romance, superhero, Greek myths, Christianity or alternativebeliefs in healers and fortune tellers, spy thriller and young adult series.
On and on it wouldn't end. I gave up at chapter 16 and jumped to the end.
I kept wanting to scratch my head and this book was strange. I felt that it tried to achieve to much.
Just strange. My book choice lately has been off. Id like the time back for listening to 16 plus last chapter. I thought if I persevered it would explain elongated complexes story at the end of book. To my horror looks like room left for another book.
