About this listen
Evan Dufort is miserable and unhappy with life. He misses his recently deceased cat, has few friends, and is plagued with illnesses. When he wins the lottery, he decides to take his best friend Kaden on an adventure. Unfortunately, everyone they seem to come in contact with dies.
Are his winnings cursed, or is there something darker at work? What do the dreams of amber coffins and crucified children mean? For these unlikely friends, the answers are going to take them on a trip that will test not only their bond, but their sanity.

There are too many detailed scenes that didn't need to be there like preparing coffee, getting into bed, preparing for a call, etc. All of it in a lot of details, it's just tiresome to read. Not just that, but when you hit 40% the "adventure" stated in the blurb, is just beginning looking like a big epilogue.
The horror part is ok, I guess. It's his dreams, we know it's dreams and they are not very scary, just weird. Full disclosure, I DNF this at about 80% so I don't know if gets better at the twenty final percent.
Jake Daley is an amazing narrator, I would love to hear more of his work in the future!
