Just brilliant

Sanjeev reads this beautiful book with passion and characterful clarity.
Aside from the book being a masterpiece, listening to the audiobook version was a great pleasure.

Wow!

Bloody hell, what a book.
I thought this book was going to be pants.
Lack of characters, lack of setting etc made me think there wouldn’t be enough substance to make it 11 hours of enjoyable content.

I have never been so glad to be so wrong.

Book is in three parts and each part is a thing of beauty. Character depth makes you, as a listener, share in the tragedies and glories of the main character. At the end, I found myself feeling like I needed a moment just to gather myself.
The narration of the story is amazing. No one could have done a better job. Simply put, it was perfect for the story and bought it to life in a way that fit like a perfect cut jigsaw piece.

This is now one of my favourite audiobooks, up there with The Martian.

Fantastic story and wonderfully read

Absolutely loved Sanjeev Bhaskar narrating- great tone and difference between the voices.
Harrowing in parts with some of the graphic details but very necessary to add weight and emotion to the story. Read the book years ago and throughly enjoyed it - equally enjoyed the listen.

Excellent

Not even seen the movie or knew much about it so listening to it without any influence was great. I thoroughly enjoyed it, the story was excellent and the narration is well read and performed. Fully recommend this.

Where do I begin......

There are books that change you, there are books that touch your heart and there are books that stay with you forever.... this is all three. I cannot remember the last time I devoured a book like this in one session. It was beautifully told by the narrator, beautifully written of course and beautifully shared by Pi.

My heart breaks for his loss and trauma but booms for the life he has now. We never know why these things happen but in some way we always learn.

I know some have said that it is slow to start but I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Pi during his childhood so by the accident I felt I really did know him before and could see the change and growth in him through his adventure and tragedy.

These books come along once in a lifetime if you are lucky, the last one that had this impact on me was Like Water for Chocolate, so please don’t be in a rush for it to be over.

This is not a simple adventure story and without wishing to give anything away I think it will affect you emotionally, mentally and spiritually, for the better.

This is truly is something special.

A boy and a Tiger

Finishing this and dwelling on it after a while my first summary about it is ''a boy and a tiger'' . But i quite enjoyed it actually. The story is very slow paced, and you might jump off because of that but it was super easy to follow through. You are met with a lot of the ''same'' or similar things throughout the story, the descriptions are long and beautiful, and the main character Pi is just someone I would love to meet in real life, his whole character built from the ground up makes me love everything about him. I loved listening through the beginning and the ending and there is just something so heartfelt and warm about it. The middle part might be tedious but enjoyable enough to turn your brain off to and just listen... kind of like yoga? Not the mention the wonderful narration making the experience so much gentler.
