About this listen

All it takes is one phone call to change your life.

Miranda Riley is a blackjack dealer in Las Vegas when she receives a call from the police that her mother, Eve, is missing. She rushes home to Little Feather, Oklahoma, hoping to quickly find her mother so she can return to her life in the big city.

But once Miranda begins to search for her, she finds there is much more to Little Feather and her mother than she originally thought. First, the city is an oasis for supernatural creatures, and secondly, her mother was the Paranormal Investigator who kept them all in line.

As a P.I., it was her mother's job to make sure the paranormal creatures stayed out of view from humans and didn't commit any crimes. But now that she's gone that’s changing.

Miranda finds herself caught up in a world she never knew existed. She needs to find her mother before paranormal things get out of hand in Little Feather, and two very attractive men are willing to help her.

Dianne Harman is a USA Today best-selling author and Amazon All-Star.

Paranormal meets private investigator

I think Dianne Harman is a very talented author and I love her cozy mysteries, so when I saw she that she had branched out into a different genre I was keen to give it ago. She has tackled this in the same style and manner making it a great little mystery just packed full of paranormal creatures. I like the paranormal twist to the story and think it makes for a interesting listen, as well as great characters. The story also contains the cute little dog and a budding romance. The world the author creates is one hidden in secret and not even the main character knew of its existence, so I enjoyed discovering it with her. The story also contains the cute little dog and a budding romance. Looking forward to more adventures in little Feather.
Miranda was glad to leave Little Feather and the mother who was to busy for her own daughter far behind her when she turned of age. That is until she gets a phone call from the sheriff claiming that her mother has gone missing. On the surface not much as changed since she left but an unexpected discovery sets Miranda world spinning. The sleep little town isn't as quiet as she thinks and her mother was a bit part of. Miranda has to learn quickly if she hopes to find her mother still alive. But just who can she trust when everybody has there own secrets to hid? And why didn't her mother tell her that P.I stands for paranormal investigator and not private investigator?
I liked the narrator, she did a good job of weaving a spell over you so you couldn't stop until you had finished the book.
