Lone Star Payback is the third book in the Hard Justice series featuring Maverick Ops - for me it was the first book in the series and I really enjoyed it.
Marco finds himself back on the battlefield after his time in the military when a stranger calling himself “Your Biggest Fan” eliminates Marco's enemies. But when Rayna's name comes up, the two are forced to confront their past. Rayna and Marco have known each other for a very long time and had a past both professionally and personally. Will they manage to stop the stranger in time?
I found the story very entertaining, there is a lot of drama, suspense and action, but also unexpected secrets and of course some romance. A perfect mix.

Marcus Barton read the audiobook and he did a great job. He portrayed the characters brilliantly and brought the story to life. Highly recommended!

I love delving back into this series, Delores Fossen is a master at romantic suspense. This installment of the Hard Justice series features Marco Morelli. Thinking he left his dangerous past behind, he finds himself right back in the thick of things, with the target, his old flame, Rayna. These two may be apart, but their feelings never faded, and now as they begin to try and figure out who is behind this and why, it becomes really evident! Now things are getting really hot, and these two think they know what's happening, but as usual, just when I thought I knew, something else comes knocking at the door. Fossen created a fantastic story! Marco is that alpha male, and while he knows the skills Rayna has, it doesn't stop his need to keep her safe. Rayna is quite the woman as she is never sidelined, and goes in head and heart first. The edge of my seat is an understatement with this suspense, as the climax hits. Totally surprised, I was all in and couldn't wait to see how it was going to turn out. Another amazing story, I enjoyed it!

Marcus Burton continues his narration of this series, and I love him! He is so good at character voice creation, pairing the perfect sound with each person. Building the suspense and romance is key and he brings it! I enjoyed this listen and highly recommend it.

Brilliant narration from Marcus Barton, who brings the characters, suspense, action, drama and romance to your ears.


Marco Morelli, finds himself back in the action , when an old girlfriend Rayna finds herself in danger. Time has not stoped or faded their feelings for each other. While the danger increases, the two of them try and find out who is behind wanting to hurt Rayna. At the same time the two of them find the heat and chemistry between them gets hotter.
Great twists and turns.
Marco is that alpha male, who cannot stop himself but help the strong and skill full Rayna. Rayna is a strong and does not hid from what is coming.
