Summary

Lucid dreaming is almost magical in that you are consciously entering your dream and able to change everything. Dreams are very real, and most of us would love to be able to enter that world every night, but most of us can't make that happen.

Enter the Applied Lucidity App, the app that uses soothing verbal prompts at the right times during sleep to alert the sleeper they are in a dream and can be conscious...like lucid.

The professional voice used in our app is very similar to the tones hypnotists use to settle the mind and allow communications that are direct. Once a sleeper hears the vocal instructions, they can become lucid in the dream they are having. Consider the Applied Lucidity App a trainer, because it has proven that the more a person dreams lucidly, the better they become. I feel that the app will become unnecessary in time, and the dreamer will be able to decide while dreaming that they want to become conscious (or lucid).

Much of the audiobook is also dedicated to science of REM sleep, dreams, and PTSD. As PTSD very often has a component of nightmares, it is an area that lucidity can be helpful. Because nightmares are dreams, a dreamer can modify the nightmares just like any dream. By reducing or eliminating the fear component of nightmares, the PTSD sufferer will sleep better and improve their overall state of mind.

Many research papers and scientific journals are referenced in citations and the bibliography to allow listeners to dig deeper into the fascinating subjects concerning our subconscious and the meaning of our dreams.
