About this listen

It's hard enough being an undergraduate student, an intern at Downtown Manhattan's police station, and a bouncer at a local bar. Add her now ex-boyfriend who recently dumped her for the school's resident bimbo - oh, and she's a werewolf.

Mackenzie Grey meets her match when she is kidnapped by the Brooklyn Pack and tossed between Sebastian and Jonah - the Alpha and the Beta. Being a lone-wolf in the city is dangerous, and now that the Pack has found her, so can every supernatural being in the Tri-State area. And not even her sarcastic, smart mouth can get her out of this.

When a string of kidnappings involves Mackenzie in supernatural politics, she questions her new acquaintances and finds unlikely allies. Can she escape Pack law and keep her freedom - or will she be condemned to an unwanted path.

Contains mature themes.

Easy listen, nothing complex just a bit of fun listening. The Scottish accent is absolutely awful but everything else is great.

I absolutely loved all of them. The story lines led on perfectly and the characters evolved with them.
Mackenzies story and sass was excellent.
I downloaded book 5 as soon as I’d finished.
I’ll be downloading all of Karinas novels.

This book (I’m half way in) is awesome!
The narrator of the book is perfect, she can do male and female voices and really creates a great essence for the book!

Great book

Supposed to be detective intern, self-admittedly can't read bodylanguage and while critical, isn't analysing observations or thinking on information that's being hand-fed. It seems a good and interesting addition, a helpful tool to delve deeper into the plot, but doesn't make sense to me in the way it's utilized.
It's aggrevating, though it may just be my own peeve rubbed the wrong way.

The story itself is just what I like in urban fantasy - so much so that I will endure my peeve and keep trying to enjoy the other elements in the story.

Good flow and concept, annoying inconsistancies

A really good story, I really enjoyed it and it was nice to have the full series in one read.

This series was amazing!! I listened to it in one fell swoop and couldn’t put it down. The way Espinosa writes the MFC is so beautiful, she’s wonderfully flawed and broken but still keeps stepping up to the plate. Often the MFCs in these kind of books where the main character is so incredibly strong in her magic is too perfect and there’s never any reflection about their trials. This is not the case here. You can’t help but feel the utter turmoil and pain Mackenzie is going through after being thrown into situations, that would break anyone, over and over again. She makes bad decisions and she hurts and so many times I’ve cried through this series, but there’s also been laughs. There’s been those wonderful moments where the laughs sticks in your throat so many times throughout this listen.
Just listen to this book and you won’t be disappointed.

The narration is a wonder of skill too. All characters are instantly distinguished by their voice actor although I think the Scottish brogue might be a bit over the top it does the job and not being Scottish I think is what makes it that. But oh is it forgotten in the wake of all the beautiful characterizations and storytelling, just listen to it.

A new favorite series

Loved this story, full of action, missed the romance side of shifter worlds, but it was a good change 🙂 I completely got lost in the fantastic world building with a mix of wolves, vampires, witches and some other randoms, sometimes the main female is a bit hot headed and I got frustrated with her but you could also say she is no push over

lots of action
