Vivid pictured of scenes painted in words

It struck me odly funny that despite the story mainly set in Paris, that the voices of characters such as the friends who threw the dog in the river were characterised with working class London accents. The descriptions of places and observations paint a picture of the detectives life some of which makes you wish you were there experiencing it yourself. An interesting story revealing the motivations and workings of the mind of main characters but keeping you guessing about the victims mindset and motivations.

Beautifully written

I am slowly collecting all the books and I confess to listening to them more than once. They are atmospheric and the reader makes it even more so. It is a shame they are only three hours long yet the charge is the same as others that are triple the time.
