About this listen

Loneliness, boredom, emptiness: These are the complaints that Rollo May encountered over and over from his patients. In response, he probes the hidden layers of personality to reveal the core of man's integration-a basic and inborn sense of value.

Man's Search for Himself is an illuminating view of our predicament in an age of overwhelming anxieties and gives guidance on how to choose, judge, and act during such times.

First starting with the negative. The language may be a little tiring because it was written in 1956 and there are repetitions. The mind wandering off may not be such a bad thing as it wanders off towards self betterment. Indeed many valuable farts, examples, experience

Inspiring book about living an existential life. I am certainly biased; regardless I likesd Rollo May’s use of references: Kierkegaard, Orestes, Faust and the problem with French existentialists. He did not touch much upon religion which is something I would have liked to hear more about.

Existential nourishment

Superb work. Seminal. What's beautiful is how even on this day, his words sound fresh, relevant, and supremely helpful.

Peace and love to all my brothers and sisters on the path
