The story's extremely well written with events set up well in advance, not always obviously, and every thing that is set up pays off.
The characters are realistic, likeable, rational, and just plain fun.
The narration is amazing; the characters lifelike and the voice engaging.

Great story and continuation from book 1. Only jarring part is the not great English accent done. Some words spot on, but many sound like what an American thinks a British accent is… and it’s off.

My only gripe is the BOOM! CRASH! BANG! stuff... it's a bit much. I almost feel bad for Travis having to narrate all that.

The first book in the series was a pleasant surprise for me and this book just builds on that, continuing the story and introducing new elements in a natural fun way. If you enjoyed the first book I can't see any reason you wouldn't enjoy this.

I've listened to many books in this genre and often they seem to go too big too quickly, cutting themselves off from the direction they can go in future books. Here the characters all get much stronger but it feels much more controlled and natural, you know what people are capable of and its easy to keep track of and leaves open many options about where the story can go next.

Narration isn't on the level of something like Dungeon Crawler Carl (despite being from one of the same narrators) or The Wandering Inn but it's very good and works well.

I have enjoyed listening to the second book and have the 3rd ready to go. I'm trying to decide if I should listen to that next or break it up by another book as I don't want the story to end (is this a trilogy or will there be more I wonder).

I am pleasantly surprised when a book hasn't got over the top romance and isn't spoilt by page filler 53X. I also love a book that can make me have a chuckle or two. This book is spot on.

If you enjoy this genre, I thoroughly recommend!
