Feels like you live the book at times
I find Jack London makes you feel like you are living in his books and can picture everything going on. I also wonder is Jack London writing about his life and how he feels in his books. I wonder is that why Jack London died the way him did ? He was a seriously gifted writer indeed.

sad, beautiful and thought inspiring
I forgot how I loved this story. I enjoyed it as much as the first time I read it. Narrator did a wonderful job, it was hard to stop listening. A must.

Simply fantastic
I really loved this book, great narration and plot of man’s struggle through Society, love and realisation of the true nature. Thoroughly recommend

Perfect
I can't describe my love for this book, just as Martin is not able to convey his thoughts in its beginning.
The narration was great. I've listened to many audiobooks and now, after just one book read by him, I consider Edoardo one of the best narrators.

Be careful what you wish for...
London is best known for his adventure novels whereby man has to pit his wits against the elements to survive. Although urban based, the sentiments remain the same in this Künstlerroman novel: A young proletarian writer has to defeat the mechanical publishing industry and the whims of the mass market to carve a living.
This feels very autobiographical to me, and has the defiant individualism which characterises London's work. He attacks the usual suspects - materialism, bourgeoisie, duplicity, herd mentality - and meditates on love, success, and celebrity culture.
I was absolutely transfixed and desperate to see if he would finally find success. The narration is perfect, though the ending is a bit of a shocker (I loved it) but imagine his editor may have attempted to push him in a different direction...

Excellent
This is my first read of Jack London. Sad but very interesting story which is beautifully written. Great narration. Highly recommend

Compelling arc
Fitting for its time in 20th century USA, compelling start, kinda a slow middle, but picks up the past in the second half. Great audio performance too.

Very pedestrian
Okay if you want a very slow contemplative explanation of a persons development. Maybe I am too accustomed to a speedier more modern way of living.
