About this listen
With a new game, Mass Effect Andromeda, set for release in 2017, the launch of a new series of Mass Effect novels is timely. The new game will take the story in a dramatic new direction and is set in a new region of space, with a new and deadly enemy.
Titan is publishing four unmissable Mass Effect novels. The novels will act as prequel and sequels to the events in the games and will become part of the overarching Mass Effect saga. These new stories, developed in close collaboration with the Bioware game team, weave directly into the action of the new game - and will reveal events kept secret over the course of game play - and will add to the canonical Mass Effect saga.

Actually it's not really a series, more like a framework.
I do not know much about the game and it's lore but i did like this book.
Interesting subject, interesting characters and i did like the message.
Most characters had a personal story and motivation.
Very interesting

The story is interesting; I enjoyed it, but some may find the exposition moments a little long winded; I actually enjoyed this, but others have stated that it was what they enjoyed least. While the perspectives of the non-council races are well developed and true to the games, one thing that bothered me was the amount of the exposition that was framed for humans, when none appear in the story. An example is an elcor explaining something medical to a quarians, a stellar, a volus and a batarian. The elcor keeps bringing up human examples of what he's talking about first, even though it's not a common reference point for any of the characters in the scene. Several characters do this, in a variety of situations, which I feel could have been better handled; this is obviously for the reader's benefit, and out of character.
Overall, I definitely don't regret listening to this; it FELT like mass effect, with memorable characters with distinct points of view. If you're a fan, I'd recommend it, if only for the very authentic cross species bickering and banter, as performed by the amazingly talented Taylorson.
Unexpectedly brilliant
