Det var en varm och vacker augustidag 1987 som det gick helt snett för den 25-årige Michael Ryan. Helt omotiverat dök han upp i Hungerfords centrum och började skjuta vilt omkring sig med ett halvautomatiskt gevär i ren "Rambostil". Han sköt på allt som rörde sig och lämnade efter sig 14 döda och 16 sårade människor innan han slutligen sköt sig själv.
