THE MESSAGE HAS DISAPPEARED.
SO HAS YOUR BEST FRIEND . . .

Get ready for the most unputdownable thriller of 2024, from no.1 bestselling author K. L. Slater
Saffy is waiting to go into a job interview when she receives a text message from her best friend, Leona:
Can’t speak . . . don’t text or call . . . please just come

As Saffy struggles to understand what is happening the phone screen changes:
This message was deleted.
Saffy races to Leona’s house, but when her friend answers the door, she insists everything's fine. She doesn't know anything about the message. Saffy can tell something’s not right, but after looking around the house, she can’t think of anything else she can do.
Six hours later, Saffy gets a knock on the door. It's the police. Leona is missing, with her young child. There's blood everywhere.
And Saffy was the last one to see them alive . . .

A great read from start to finish, I Highly recommend it. Lots of twists throughout the story.

Excellent

I usually enjoy this author but I found this one really dull.
The storyline was boring and a bit disjointed and the characters weren't likeable.
The only reason I ploughed through to the end was that I wasn't able to return it!

Disappointing

Great story kept me hooked! Notts accents a but debatable but still a great performance

Brilliant

It was okay, started off strong but faded a bit in the middle. The ending was drawn out too, and the narrator sometimes didn’t pronounce the end of words - not sure if that’s just a recording error but it was a bit annoying!

Dragged longer than it needed to

Absolutely gutted when I was coming to the end of the book a really really didn’t want it to finish - I’ve listened to every single KL Slater book and loved every one of them.. can’t wait for the next one ☺️

Another excellent listen

Loved it from beginning to end! You get hooked on it as soon as you start and never know what twist is coming around! Great story as all of Slaters books !

Amazing!

I felt it was a good start and I was drawn into the story. But as it got near to the end I felt the. ‘Unravelling’ and explanations went on far too long and the main characters seemed to lose their personalities. I got bored during the explanations and didn’t really care any more about who did what or said what to whom. And the actual ‘end’ was a bit too ‘happy ever after’.

Disappointing

Just had to keep listening. Great story. Plot line. Narration. Best yet K L Slater!

Listened in two days !

The beginning was great, creating a lot of suspense, but the resolution was rather implausible, as was the behavior of some characters (especially the police officers).

Great suspense, but...
