About this listen
Large chests are said to encompass all manner of hopes and dreams. Men covet them. Women envy them. But one fact holds true - everyone wants to get their hands on some big ones.
The same holds true for one intrepid adventurer - a strapping young lad by the name of Himmel. Armed with his grandfather's trusty longsword and the dream of being the strongest, he sets out on the journey of a lifetime! It is sure to be a long and dangerous road, fraught with danger! And it all starts with a simple test - reach Level Five in the dungeon called the "newbie zone" and earn the right to become a full-fledged adventurer!
However, such things get hopelessly derailed when his adolescent mind beholds an exposed chest for the first time - a fateful meeting that would inevitably lead his life in a direction he never even dreamed of!
Content warning: Gore, violence, explicit sexual scenes
Everybody Loves Large Chests was first brought to Jeff Hays on Soundbooth Theater Live, his live streaming narration show. Since then, it has been the most consistently requested and enjoyed title by fans. Randomly found this now a life long fan
I seen this in my recommendations in my kindle store. It kept appearing finally I thought why not and I was not disappointed in fact it introduced me to litrpgs I since got this audio version and I am now a patron of the author.
So about the book
It's about the rise of a weak character to a killing machine in essence. Old trope sure but with a few twists. There is sex, greed, manipulation, deception, sexisism and murder however as the main character is asexual and amoral these are done by side and minor characters allowing for a completely different way of telling these types of stories.
This performance is well done in my opinion as said above I read it first and when I heard the male voice voicing the female characters for the first 5 min I was dubious, Jeff hays however has enough vocal range to carry the performance.
The stats spoken is the only bad thing I have the type of mind that doesn't mind that however I know this isn't everyone's "cup of tea" and those sections do lend themselves to the kindle version also the audio does give the option to skip them through the chapters menu so win win as long as you aren't in bed.
I hope the few that are still reading will get this book and enjoy it as much as I did the author is still writing and finished book 3 not that long ago the story gets better and better.

Very funny. Don't take it seriously.
This audiobook's title and cover are amusingly misleading. This is definitely not a story for a young audience, despite the fact that there are plenty of examples of immature (or mature) humour. At first I took characters seriously and found that is not the best way for me to enjoy this book. For me, I enjoyed it most when I just enjoyed the dark, and blue humour, and absurdity of the narrative for what it was. I'm likely to read the following entries to this series, but more as a light break between other works.

Gloriously gory and occasionally unpleasant
In fantasy environments there's a lot of talk of good vs evil. So very rarely do we see what would constitute true evil. This is a story that not only approaches the subject without shying away, it jumps in head first and baths in the glorious unpleasantness of it all.
Despite the protagonist clearly twisted and purely evil and immoral outlook on the world you will almost certainly find yourself rooting for them against all odds.
This book approaches strong adult themes with gusto and anyone who would usually check for a trigger warning should probably give this one a miss as it finds most of usual triggers and fires them like a 21 gun salute.
Would recommend to anyone looking for a change to the usual fantasy tropes who likes a little dumb humour and body horror.

Held together by wit and narrator
Although the story is a bit rambling it is saved by genuine wit, and a very accomplished narrator.
I will be continuing with the saga as I think it has legs

These books are the shiniest of shinies!
Absolutely love watching this murderous box on legs grow from being a stupid low level monster and develop into a sneaky calculated force of mayhem. Love the tone these books have and especially like how questionable actions are later reflected on with a different mindset as the monster gains intelligence. Monsters will be monsters and this monster is my favourite!!

Stupid tasty fun
Good fun. Nothing serious. Nice for a background listen. Don’t worry if you miss a bit. No need to hit rewind 30 seconds if you get distracted for a moment.
